Colonel Gannon retired from the Providence Police Department after 37 years of service. In the course of his career he rose through the ranks serving in and/or commanding every bureau and division in the states largest police department. He was appointed Chief of the Providence Police Department in March 1991 and commanded that department until his retirement in September of 1995.
Colonel Gannon was appointed the Chief of the Burrillville Police Department in May of 1997. Since assuming command he has changed the formal organization of the department to reflect the Department's philosophy of community policing. The Colonel is a graduate of Salve Regina University and the F.B.I. National Academy 107th Session. Click here
