REGULAR MEETING of the Burrillville Town Council to be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. in the Town Council Chambers, 105 Harrisville Main St.,  Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.

PRESENT:  Council President Nancy F. Binns, Councilors Wallace F. Lees, Kevin M. Blais, Margaret L. Dudley, John M. Karmozyn Jr., Norman C. Mainville and Cynthia L. Roe

MEMBERS ABSENT:  

        1.     Pledge of Allegiance

       2.      That the question of accepting the minutes of the regular meeting held April 11, the workshop held April 11, 2007; the public hearing held April 11, 2007 and the question of dispensing with the reading of said minutes; be now taken up.

       3.     Public Comment:
        
       4.      That the General Good and Welfare of the Town of Burrillville; be now taken up.

        5.      Petitions to be considered and acted upon:  

07-157  Petition from Susan Alice Taber, as Administratrix of the estate of Wayne Sherman Taber, for a claim of damages from the Town of Burrillville in the sum of $500,000, and from Susan Alice Taber individually for a claim of damages for loss of consortium of her husband in the sum of $200,000.

        6.      Special Business to be considered and acted upon:  

07-158  Application for a Special Event Victualing License from St. Theresa's Church to serve fish & chips on May 18, June 15, July 20 and October 19, 2007 to apply at 35 Dion Drive, Nasonville.

        7.     Unfinished Business to be considered and acted upon:  

07-120  Correspondence from John P. Mainville, Finance Director, regarding a contingent premium rebate received from Blue Cross; and a recommendation for establishing a revolving side fund.

8.     New Business to be considered and acted upon:

07-159  Correspondence from Paul A. Roselli, President, Burrillville Land Trust, regarding his request to make a presentation to the Town Council relative to the Burrillville Farmers' Market.

07-160  Correspondence from Edward J. Pienkos, Information Systems Manager, regarding his request to declare surplus certain items, as listed.

07-161  Resolution declaring North Shore Road a public highway; for scheduling of a public hearing (recommended date May 23, 2007).


07-162  Resolution requesting that the Rhode Island General Assembly amend §44-4.1 of the General Laws entitled Historic Residence - Tax Credit.

07-163  MOTION to award the full depth pavement reclamation bid to Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. at a cost of $1.789 per square yard; to be considered and acted on.

07-164  Request from Councilor Norman C. Mainville to discuss and consider a request for support of the Eleanor Slater Hospital's Fifth Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the "Patients for Progress Fund".

07-165  MOTION by Councilor John M. Karmozyn, Jr., to notify the Attorney General's Office of a possible/potential compromise of Executive Session on March 28, 2007; to be considered and acted on.

07-166  Correspondence from Councilor Kevin M. Blais regarding several calls regarding failing or failed roads and infrastructure within the town.

07-167  Correspondence from Councilor Kevin M. Blais regarding his request to discuss the issue of competitive bidding.
