Shippee Bridge work planned
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has imposed usage restrictions on Shippee Bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane at a time and vehicles over three tons must follow a detour route.
RIDOT anticipates closing the bridge over the Nipmuc River on Route 98 in Harrisville during repairs, which are scheduled to begin in June of 2008.
The bridge is expected to be closed for about six months.
