SPECIAL MEETING of the Town Council held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 7:05 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Town Building, Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, Louis Bleiweis, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilor Edward F. Bonczek was excused. Councilor William A. Andrews was absent.
1. VOTED introduction and first reading of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, 5-year update; and to schedule a public hearing for September 8, 2004.
Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn. Seconded by Councilor William E. Gonyea. The vote was unanimous by the five members present. Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, Louis Bleiweis, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilor Edward F. Bonczek was excused. Councilor William A. Andrews was absent.
Council President Wallace F. Lees recessed the meeting at 7:07 p.m., at which time the Town Council conducted a workshop relative to discussions and considerations relative to the W.L. Callahan Elementary School Facility Feasibility Analysis. Council President Wallace F. Lees reconvened the special meeting at 8:08 p.m.
2. VOTED to grant a request for Executive Session from Councilor Ronald E. Faford pursuant to Rhode Island Open Meeting Law [42-46-5 (a)(5)] for discussions or considerations related to the acquisition, sale and exchange of real property.
Motion by Councilor William E. Gonyea. Seconded by Councilor Ronald E. Faford. The vote was unanimous by the five members present. Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, Louis Bleiweis, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilor Edward F. Bonczek was excused. Councilor William A. Andrews was absent.
The Town Council returned to open session at 8:23 p.m.
VOTED to seal the minutes of the executive session; there were no votes taken.
Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn. Seconded by Councilor William E. Gonyea. The vote was unanimous by the five members present. Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, Louis Bleiweis, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilor Edward F. Bonczek was excused. Councilor William A. Andrews was absent.
VOTED to adjourn at 8:23 p.m.
