Lt. Lareto P. Guglietta was appointed as a police officer for the Town of Burrillville on May 27th, 1987. He had been previously employed by the Rhode Island Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer. Lt. Guglietta was promoted to Sergeant in June 1993 and Lieutenant in December 1997. He is currently the Commanding Officer in charge of the Administrative Services Bureau and the department's Special Response Team. In October 2000, in addition to his duties for the Burrillville Police, he was assigned to the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy as a firearms instructor and instructs 3 new recruit classes each year.
Lt. Guglietta earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University and a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Anna Maria College. In December 2001, Lt. Guglietta graduated from the 207th Session of the F.B.I. National Academy at Quantico, Virginia. He now serves as Past President of the New England Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates, an Advisory Board Member of the Rhode Island Tactical Officer's Association and Past President of the Rhode Island Law Enforcement Trainers
