For those interested... listed below are the current qualifications required to become a Burrillville Police Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT:

At the time of application, candidates must possess an education equal to the completion of an Associates Degree (60 credit hours) in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice. A Bachelors degree in one of these fields is desired. Candidates who served honorably in active military service for two years or the National Guard or Reserves for four years may be substituted for educational requirements. Likewise, certification from the RI Municipal Police Academy as a Municipal Police Officer or three years of satisfactory employment as a Correctional Officer may be substituted for the educational requirements. Candidates must be a US citizen with a valid Rhode Island drivers license. The candidate must successfully pass drug screening; plus physical, written, psychological, and medical examinations A full background investigation is part of the evaluation process.
