Mission Statement
The mission of the Parks & Recreation Department is to provide active and passive recreational areas and activities to meet the needs of all segments of the Burrillville Community. The Department of Parks & Recreation is responsible for all recreational functions, facilities, activities, assets and resources within the town not under the school department. The Town's Recreation Commission, appointed by the Town Council, oversees and recommends policies to the Director of Parks and Recreation. Together, the Director and Commission are responsible for the Town's comprehensive program. While the Department of Parks and Recreation determines infrastructure and maintenance needs, the Department of Public Works is responsible for the implementation of improvements and maintenance of the Town's recreational facilities.
The Burrillville Community Recreation Center is available for rental for such occasions as parties, meetings and various other events.
