The purpose of the town redevelopment agency is to encourage, direct, and manage new development and redevelopment within targeted districts. It is authorized to acquire and sell property and redevelop those areas to carry out the elements of Rhode Island General Law (§§45-31- 45-33). Members are appointed by the Town council as provided by town ordinance and the laws of the State of Rhode Island.
Meeting Information
The Redevelopment Agency meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 105 Harrisville Main St., Harrisville, RI 02830.
At their meeting of August 28, 2005, the Redevelopment Agency established an agenda deadline date and time as follows:
1. For regularly scheduled monthly meetings the deadline for agenda items from Agency members and the general public is the preceding Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
2. Special meetings of the Agency will follow the rules for open meetings and if an agenda deadline is established, it will be at the call of the chairperson.
Note: The Chairman reserves the right to add, delete or modify the agenda as needed to coordinate and facilitate the meetings and meeting schedules.
