If your trash or recycling was not picked up, please call
COASTAL RECYCLING GROUP at
1-800-266-3188
Reasons why your trash may not have been picked up:
No Recycle Bin - The Town implemented a No Bin, No Barrel program on 12/1/10. Your trash WILL NOT be collected unless there is at least one recycle bin or other container with an "Extra Recycling" sticker set out at the curb with your trash. There will be NO exceptions. For more information on "NO BIN, NO BARREL" please click here.
Too many Barrels/Bags – Residents are allowed four 30 gallon bags/barrels per household.
Recyclables NOT properly sorted – Paper mixed with glass & plastic will not be picked up. Please separate your recyclables and place in appropriate BLUE and GREEN bin for proper disposal.
Items are placed in your bins that are NOT recyclable - Plastic bags, pizza boxes, paper packaging from frozen/refrigerated foods, beer/soda packaging are NOT RECYCLABLE.
Frozen Refuse – If you noticed only half of your trash can was emptied, it may have been frozen to the sides of the trash can.
Spilled Trash – If the dogs or wild animals got into your trash, or the wind knocked it down, it is the resident’s responsibility to clean up the area and place the trash back into the appropriate containers.
Placing an item out that is NOT accepted curbside – Mattresses, box springs, rigid plastic, scrap metal, electronics (E-Waste), construction debris, appliances, household hazardous waste, Christmas trees, tires & yard waste…these items are NOT picked up in the weekly collection. For a quick list on HOW TO DISPOSE OF these items, please click here.
