Residents are reminded that the Whipple Avenue Compost Facility is NOT A DUMP OR TRANSFER STATION. Please do not bring your solid waste or questionable materials that we cannot accept to this facility.
This facility accpets limited recyclable items, such as compost yard waste, brush, tires (off rim-limit 4), scrap metals ( larger than 35-lbs.) and CRT containg electronic items (TV's, Computer Monitors, Microwaves, etc.).
If what ever item you have is not mentioned above...then please do not bring them to the Compost Facility...you will leave with it.
The Whipple Avenue Compost Facility is open during the months of:
APRIL, MAY, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, and NOVEMBER
From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays
And
JUNE, JULY and AUGUST
Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. .
The Compost Facility is CLOSED during the months of:
December, January, February and March.
Residents may request a disposal appointment by contacting the Department of Public Works at 568-4440.
