The Public Works Department is pleased to announce the Compost Facility located on Whipple Avenue in Oakland will be opening for the 2005 season starting April 2nd at 9:00 AM.
The Compost Facility will be open each Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the months of April, May, September, October and November.
For the months of June, July and August the Compost Facility will be open each Wednesday and the second and fourth Saturday of those months.
The Whipple Avenue Compost Site accepts, free of charge, tires off rims (Four limit), empty propane tanks, electronic waste as well as compostable yard waste and brush for Burrillville residents only. Proof of residency is required. Brush brought to the Compost Facility must be cut into 5-foot lengths and can be no larger than 4-inches in overall diameter. Compost material in plastic garbage bags will not be accepted.
