Large plastic items, or rigid plastic items are not picked at curbside and must be brought to the Whipple Avenue Compost Facility during normal hours of operation. A sampling of items is as follows:
- Children’s Toys
- Plastic Lawn Furniture
- Baby Car Seats
- Plastic Vacuum Cleaners
- Hose Reels
**Pool covers, solar covers & tarps are NOT accepted at the Compost Facility. These items must be rolled up, tied, and then placed at the curb with your weekly set out**
Please keep in mind, rigid plastic will not be picked up by the trash collector if set out at the curb. Rigid plastic put to the curb will be tagged with a sticker reminding you to properly dispose at the Whipple Avenue Compost Facility.
Residents are asked to PLEASE take a little extra time to properly dispose of rigid plastic. Proper disposal not only reduces the amount of garbage we are throwing away, but also saves your tax dollars because recyclable items are accepted FREE OF CHARGE at the Compost Facility.
