Paper and Cardboard

PAPER
Newspapers, magazines, envelopes, cereal boxes, egg cartons, etc…are all recyclable. Loose paper and shredded paper are also accepted, but please do not leave these items loose in your GREEN BIN. Put loose and shredded in a paper bag and place in your bin.
Please be sure boxes are flattened so they can fit into the recycle truck.
CARDBOARD BOXES
Cardboard boxes may be placed curbside along with the GREEN BIN. Boxes must be cut down to approx 30” x 30” x 8”. Cardboard not cut to size may be rejected by the Recycling Collector.
Cardboard boxes may not be used as trash containers. Boxes containing loose or bagged trash will not be collected by the trash or recycling collector.
Residents are asked to please take the little extra time required to properly break cardboard down so that it may be collected with the Green Bin recyclables. In an effort to increase recycling in Burrillville, cardboard boxes that are not properly broken down will not be collected by the trash collector.
STOP – THESE ITEMS ARE NOT RECYCLABLE
Note: Beer & soda boxes, ice cream & frozen food boxes are NOT recyclable due to the chemical treatment of the cardboard. Pizza boxes are also NOT recyclable because of the grease from the pizza.
