1/05/2009 Burrillville DPW puts out a new Community Based Calendar with emphasis on Recycling in Burrillville.
During the summer of 2008 the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation advertised the announcement of grant monies available Rhode Island communities that were available to promote education on Recycling. Recycling Coordinator submitted a grant application requesting $16,750 to fund the compellation of a community based calendar with an emphasis on recycling. During September RIRRC awarded the grant to the town with a notice to proceed. After notice of the grant was given quotes were obtained and work proceeded to start the creation of a new community calendar.
The calendars have an abundance of information as it relates to Burrillville's refuse and recycling program. Not only does the community calendar boast scenic photos throughout the town, but also provides a wealth of information on the importance of recycling and everything the residents need to know on how to properly dispose of solid waste in our town. The project was designed at informing the public on the importance of recycling and promotes a better level of education and understanding on the ever changing waste management dilemmas that the town faces on a day to day basis.
If you have questions about the recycling calendars, please contact the Department of Public Works Recycling Coordinator at 568-4440 extension 12.
