Council Public Hearing 11-18-2002 Gus' License
PUBLIC HEARING of the Town Council held Monday, November 18, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber, Town Building, Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.

MEMBERS ABSENT:  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused due to business commitments.

NOTE:  Notice of the Public Hearing was duly advertised in the Legal Section of the Woonsocket Call on Saturday, November 9, 2002 and Friday, November 15, 2002.  

Application for license to sell beverages under provisions of Title 3, Chapter 5, Section 17 and Title 3, Chapter 7, Section 6 of the General Laws of Rhode Island, 1956, as amended, for term ending November 30, 2003 from MJT Incorporated, d/b/a Gus’ Red Tavern, in a building owned by John R. Duguay and A. Emma Duguay, for premises located at 2692 Victory Highway, Nasonville (Assessor’s Map 114, Lot No. 4).

A)      Report of the Building Official and the Nasonville Fire Department
B)      Correspondence from John R. Duguay regarding a rental lease agreement between John R. Dugauy and April Bibeault.

The hearing of all interested parties in regard to the granting of this license.
Note:  Persons who wish to address the Town Council shall state their name and address.

        Proponents:  None

        Opponents:  None

VOTED to grant the liquor license to MJT, Inc., d/b/a Gus’ Red Tavern.

Councilor Norman C. Mainville made the motion.  Councilor William E. Gonyea seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous by the six members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Town Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused.

VOTED to grant an annual victualing license to April Bibeault d/b/a Gus’s Red Tavern.

Councilor Louis Bleiweis made the motion.  Councilor William E. Gonyea seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous by the six members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Town Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused.

VOTED to grant a quarterly entertainment license to April Bibeault d/b/a Gus’ Red Tavern, to apply at 2692 Victory Highway from December 1, 2002 until February 28, 2003.

Councilor William A. Andrews made the motion.  Councilor Norman C. Mainville seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous by the six members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Town Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused.

VOTED to grant a pool table license for two (2) pool tables to April Bibeault d/b/a Gus’ Red Tavern, to apply at 2692 Victory Highway from December 1, 2002 until October 31, 2003.

Councilor Norman C. Mainville made the motion.  Councilor William E. Gonyea seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous by the six members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Town Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused.

VOTED to adjourn at 10:20 a.m.

Councilor Norman C. Mainville made the motion.  Councilor William E. Gonyea seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous by the six members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Town Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors William A. Andrews, Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, William E. Gonyea and Norman C. Mainville.  Councilor Jacqueline Zahn was excused.
