11-17-2003 Public Hearing - New Liquor License (Elite Pizza)
PUBLIC HEARING of the Town Council held Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:04 a.m. in the Council Chamber, Town Building, Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea.

MEMBERS ABSENT:  Councilors Jacqueline Zahn and William A. Andrews were excused due to work commitments.


1.      Application for License Class B(Victualer) to sell beverages under provisions of Title 3, Chapter 5, Section 17 and Title 3, Chapter 7, Section 6 of the General Laws of Rhode Island, 1956, as amended, for term ending November 30, 2004 from SAVVIDIS, ABRAHAM, d/b/a Elite Pizza Restaurant, in building a owned by Valliere Realty Associates, LLC, 68 North Main Street, Pascoag (Assessors' Map 158, Lot No. 72).

NOTE:  Notice of the Public Hearing was duly advertised in the Legal Section of the Woonsocket Call on Friday, November 7, 2003 and Friday, November 14, 2003.

NOTE:  Notice was sent to all abutting property owners by certified mail, as required by law.

A)      Report/recommendation of the Building Official.
B)      Report/recommendation of the Chief of Police.
C)      Report/recommendation of the Fire Chief.
D)      Report of the Department of Health.
E)      Report of the Tax Collector.

NOTE:  Reports A - E are on file with the record of the minutes.

The hearing of all interested parties in regard to the granting of this license. Note:  Persons who wish to address the Town Council shall state their name and address.

2.      Proponents:  None

3.      Opponents:  None

4.      VOTED to close the public hearing.

Motion by Councilor Louis Bleiweis.  Seconded by Councilor Ronald E. Faford.  The vote was unanimous by the five members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilors Jacqueline Zahn and William A. Andrews were excused.

5.      VOTED to grant a Class B(Victualer) to sell beverages to SAVVIDIS, ABRAHAM, d/b/a Elite Pizza.

Motion by Councilor William E. Gonyea.  Seconded by Councilor Edward F. Bonczek.  The vote was unanimous by the five members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilors Jacqueline Zahn and William A. Andrews were excused.

6.      VOTED to adjourn at 10:10 a.m.

Motion by Councilor William E. Gonyea.  Seconded by Councilor Ronald E. Faford.  The vote was unanimous by the five members present.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Louis Bleiweis, Edward F. Bonczek, Ronald E. Faford and William E. Gonyea. Councilors Jacqueline Zahn and William A. Andrews were excused.
