SPECIAL MEETING of the Town Council of the Town of Burrillville held Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 9:10 a.m. in the Burrillville Town Council Chambers, Town Building, 105 Harrisville Main Street, Harrisville.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Council President Wallace F. Lees; Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Margaret L. Dudley and William E. Gonyea.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilor Ronald E. Faford was excused due to a prior commitment.
1. VOTED to grant the request for Executive Session from Council President Wallace F. Lees pursuant to Rhode Island Open Meeting Law [§42-46-5(a)(1)] to discuss the job performance of Town Manager Michael C. Wood.
Note: Michael C. Wood was duly notified in advance in writing of this request for Executive Session; he was notified and advised that he could require that the discussion be held at an open meeting.
Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn. Seconded by Councilor William A. Andrews. The motion was unanimous by the six members present. Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Margaret L. Dudley and William E. Gonyea. Councilor Ronald E. Faford was excused.
Note: The executive session was recessed on the arrival of the Emergency Management Team which, in an emergency meeting, reported on storm and flooding conditions throughout the Town of Burrillville.
The Council returned to open session at 10:55 a.m.
VOTED to continue the special meeting at the call of the Chair.
Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn. Seconded by Councilor Margaret L. Dudley. The motion was unanimous by the six members present. Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Margaret L. Dudley and William E. Gonyea. Councilor Ronald E. Faford was excused.
