Public Hearing Mamas to Ronnies Transfer 9-27-2006
PUBLIC HEARING of the Town Council held Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Town Building, Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Council President Wallace F. Lees; Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, Councilors William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Edward F. Bonczek, Margaret L. Dudley and Ronald E. Faford.

MEMBERS ABSENT:  None


1.      Application for transfer of Retail License Class B (Victualer) to sell beverages under Title 3, Chapter 5 of the General Laws of Rhode Island 1956, and amendments thereto, has been made as follows:

From: Mama McGee’s d/b/a Mama McGee’s, in building owned by Lucky Starz, for premises located at 2692 Victory Highway, Nasonville (Assessor’s Map 114, Lot 51).

To: Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern Inc. d/b/a Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern, in building owned by Ronald and Paula Dumas, for premises located at 2692 Victory Highway, Nasonville (Assessor’s Map 114, Lot 51).


NOTE:  

Notice of the Public Hearing was duly advertised in the Legal Section of the Woonsocket Call on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 and Monday, September 25, 2006.

Notice was sent to all abutting property owners by certified mail, as required by law.

It was noted for the record that objections had been received from vendors.

The hearing of all interested parties in regard to the granting of this license. Note:  Persons who wish to address the Town Council shall state their name and address.

4.      VOTED to close the public hearing be now taken up.

Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn.  Seconded by Councilor Margaret L. Dudley.  The motion was unanimous.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Edward F. Bonczek, Margaret L. Dudley and Ronald E. Faford.

Discussion:  Walter J. Kane, Town Solicitor, advised the Town Council that if they intended to grant the liquor license, the license could not be issued until payment to liquor vendors had been made and the objections released.

5.      VOTED to grant transfer of Retail License Class B (Victualer) to sell beverages under Title 3, Chapter 5 of the General Laws of Rhode Island 1956, and amendments thereto, has been made as follows:

with issuance contingent upon receipt of an insurance certificate, approval of the department of health, payment of taxes and outstanding bills are to be paid.

Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn.  Seconded by Councilor William A. Andrews.  The motion was unanimous.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Edward F. Bonczek, Margaret L. Dudley and Ronald E. Faford.

6.      Victualing License:

VOTED to grant a new victualing license from Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern, Inc. d/b/a Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern, in building owned by Ronald and Paula Dumas, for premises located at 2692 Victory Highway, Nasonville (Assessor’s Map 114, Lot 51), with the stipulations that the insurance certificate, department of health and payment of taxes are taken care of.

Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn.  Seconded by Councilor Ronald E. Faford.  The motion was unanimous.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Edward F. Bonczek, Margaret L. Dudley and Ronald E. Faford.

7.      Entertainment License:

VOTED to grant a new quarterly entertainment license from Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern, Inc. d/b/a Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern, in building owned by Ronald and Paula Dumas, for premises located at 2692 Victory Highway, Nasonville (Assessor’s Map 114, Lot 51), with the same three stipulations.

Motion by Councilor Jacqueline Zahn.  Seconded by Councilor William A. Andrews.  The motion was unanimous.  Voting in favor of the motion were Council President Wallace F. Lees, Councilors Jacqueline Zahn, William A. Andrews, Nancy F. Binns, Edward F. Bonczek, Margaret L. Dudley and Ronald E. Faford.

8.      VOTED to adjourn at 7:15 p.m.
