SPECIAL MEETING of the Town Council held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the Council Chamber, Town Building, 105 Harrisville Main St., Harrisville for and within the Town of Burrillville.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Council President Nancy F. Binns, Councilors Wallace F. Lees, Margaret L. Dudley, and John M. Karmozyn Jr.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilors Kevin M. Blais, Norman C. Mainville and Cynthia L. Roe were excused due to work.
1. That the following renewals of Alcoholic Beverage Licenses under provision of Title 3, Chapter 7, General Laws of Rhode Island, 1956, as amended, for the period beginning December 1, 2007 and ending November 30, 2008.
A. Obtaining a Certificate of Good Standing from the State Division of Taxation prior to the date of said renewal, and
B. The payment of taxes owed to the Town of Burrillville, and
C. The establishment being in compliance with all state and local building and fire codes.
D. Copy of certification from the Rhode Island Department of Health.
E. Proof of Alcohol Server Training.
F. Certificate of Insurance in compliance with §8-28 of the Ordinances of the Town of Burrillville.

2. VOTED that the Class B (Victualer) and Class D (Full Privilege Liquor Licensees, be and they are hereby granted permission to remain open until 3:00 o'clock A.M. on New Year's Day January 1, 2008 and no intoxicating liquor shall be sold after 2:00 o'clock A.M. until the legal opening hours of January 1, 2008 and no dancing shall be permitted after 3:00 o'clock A.M. on New Year's morning until the legal opening hour. Licensees who plan to remain open must notify the Chief of Police, Colonel Bernard E. Gannon on or before November 30, 2007.

Discussion: The clerk acknowledged the smooth procedure for license application, recognizing Christine Mulligan from the Town Clerk's Office and the promptness and cooperation of the Fire Marshalls who conducted inspections of the businesses. Council President Nancy F. Binns concurred and thanked Ms. Mulligan for a job well done.
