Quality of Life

Burrillville remains a friendly place with a special charm & unique character tracing its roots as far back as the1630’s when European settlers arrived to the New World looking for new opportunity.  As America began to take form, the northwest corner of Rhode Island expanded, becoming a stable economic center with textile mills and lively communities.  In 1806, Rhode Island Attorney General James Burrill Jr., for whom the town was named, helped incorporate the Town of Burrillville and the rural community was born.

Seven villages including Harrisville, Pascoag, Oakland, Mapleville, Glendale, Mohegan, Bridgeton and Nasonville add a unique touch to the rural town with an expanding school system and good quality of life.  Plenty of space to build a home or business, access to major regional cities such as Providence, Worcester, Boston or New York enhance the appeal Burrillville provides to it’s 16,000+ residents.

Access to boating, fishing, swimming, golf courses, campgrounds and other recreational opportunities add to the vibrant town life, which continues year round as families enjoy a plethora of events that the town holds each year. Residents regularly exchange greetings in the small town atmosphere.  Burrillville continues to grow while remaining a safe place to live and work.

With recent improvements to the infrastructure and attractive tax incentives, the combination of historic establishments and modern amenities highlight Burrillville’s quintessential New England charm.  Burrillville's suburban appeal of lower taxes, economic prosperity, and safe environment to live and work offer families and employees a good quality of life.
