• Background Checks – Annual Background Checks of all recreation program instructors.
• Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program –The next two packing sessions are scheduled for October 19th
and November 30th to pack enough food to carry us through December and January. Donation
solicitation letters went out to past supporters on September 9th. Dunkin Donuts sent us a $100
donation. Crystal Lake donated gift certificates for two rounds of golf for two to be used in a raffle.
$100 in donations was received from residents. CVS donated a $200 gift card which was used to
purchase food for the next packing session. Elementary schools have been collecting food items.
• Dance Program – New tap class added on Tuesdays at 4pm.
• Facebook- Dance programs and multi-sport fall information was posted. Posted Fall Newsletter and
Green Fest information.
• Fencing – Classes scheduled to resume in October 17th ATL.

• Forever Fit – Average attendance for September was 16.
• Healthier Fit Lifestyle- 8 participants have registered for the new fall session. A second level 6 week
session will start in November.
• Holiday Card Contest- Memo submitted requesting Council’s assistance in selecting the winners for the
2016 contest. Flyers were distributed to the schools on October 5th.
• Parks and Rec Calendars/Newsletters/Website- October Calendars posted and Fall Program Flyers were
delivered.
• Photography Class – Met with a new instructor regarding a new photography class to be offered for the
fall. Working on flyer, press release and location for the 4 week intro to photography class.
• Santa at Stillwater – event scheduled for December 10th from 1-3 with a Blizzard Date of December 17th.
• Sunshine Club– Next Sunshine Club meeting scheduled for October 17th. September meeting had 7
volunteers that made 21 birthday gifts.
• Tap Dancing for Fun and Fitness- 10 participants attended the first tap to fitness class.
• Walk Fit and Live Active- 3 participants have registered to date.
Update on Hauser Lights:
-Up and running, being used two days a week. Approx 20k in savings.
Report on Brown House construction:
-Window blinds & historic museum room being worked on.
Report on Dog Park and Dog pound:
-Park is going to permitting. Floor plan back with architect.
Discussion on Dog Park Policy:
-No updates, removing from agenda.
Report on Recreation Expansion Plan :
-No new updates.
Update on Spring Lake Operations:
-No new updates at present.
Review and discuss Spring Lake policies
-James Alix pointed out grammar/typo issues.
-Discussed appropriate swimwear at the beach
-James Alix motions to accept policy with corrections/additions (swimwear, kayak), second by Aaron Coutu.
Passes unopposed.
