EFSB Denies Permit
Finds no need for Clear River

At an open meeting of the Energy Facility Siting Board (EFSB) held June 20, 2019, the EFSB
- Voted unanimously that the applicant, Invenergy, failed to meet its burden of proving by a preponderence of the evidence that the proposed facility is needed to meet the state and/or region's need for energy of the type produced by the proposed facility.
- In a subsequent vote, the EFSB voted unanimously that no further discussion on the elements of proof was necessary.
- Finally, voted unanimously that the application for a license to construct and operate the Clear River Energy Center be denied
