Invenergy -- Scituate Considering RESCINDING Its Resolution!

A message from Jerry Elmer, Senior Attorney, Conservation Law Foundation

Dear friends in  Burrillville:Jerry Elmer, CLF

You may be keenly interested to know that on Thursday, March 15, at 7:00 at Scituate High School the Scituate Town Council will vote on a resolution to RESCIND the previous Town Council resolution opposing Invenergy.  I attach a copy of the resolution.  I do not know the back story of this effort (that is, whether this arose from some local residents who are acting on their own or whether this is the beginning of a broader, organized effort by Invenergy).  In either event, a very strong showing by our side would be a very good idea!

I myself am not able to join you, as I will be at the State House that evening, testifying in favor of a bill called the Global Warming Solutions Act, which, if enacted, would impose mandatory, economy-wide, legally enforceable, annual reductions in carbon emissions in Rhode Island.

This e-mail is not confidential, and I encourage you to share it widely.
