R e p o r t o n R e c r ea t i o n P r o gra m I n f o rm a t i o n
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Three families (each with two eligible
children) are participating in the summer backpack program and are picking up the bags
at Parks and Recreation. Donated food has been inventoried and will be moved to the
Lodge for storage. Planning a packing session for the 2018-2019 school year for some
time in August.
-Digital Photography 101 – Classes are running with only one student attending.
-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Tennis Program and One on One flyers posted. Link
shared with NRI now.
-Family Fair- Fair was a success with approximately 1500 people in attendance. New
edition of pony rides
-Green Festival – Initial email went out to previous vendors. Signs dropped off for date
change. Working with PUD to add an electric vehicle car show. BPAC to have a mini
wellness expo at this year’s festival.
-Beckwith Bruckshaw Lodge – Lodge floors refinished the first week of July.
-Safe Sitter – 11 students participated in the June Safe Sitter program.
-Spring Shred & E-Waste Event – A total of 18,497 pounds of e-waste was collected and
3,920 pounds of paper was shredded.
-Summer Meal Program – Summer meal program to run July-August at the Pavilion.
School department to handle the scheduling of volunteers to serve Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday. JSML to serve Tuesday and Thursday.
-Summer Programs– 9 students registered for Mulit-Sport, 3 for adult tennis and 7 for
junior tennis.
-Sunshine Club– June meeting had 8 volunteers that made 28 gifts

Enforcement of No Smoking at Spring Lake Beach
-Need to identify ordinance/laws regarding no smoking
-Letter to be sent to Town Council
Methods available to stop neighbor from hitting golf balls on to Spring Lake Beach grounds
-no new updates, removing from agenda
Methods available to stop people from fishing too close to swimming area
-no new updates, leaving item for DPW updates going forward
