Recreation Program Information:

-Archery – Fall classes begin October 23rd on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Lodge

-Art Classes- Fall classes begin at SFE on October 11th.

-Boot Camp – Bootcamp had 768 participants for the month of August. Two hour bootcamp to be held on

September 30th from 7-9am.

-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Distribution of weekly bags begin 9/8. There are 19 students

participating in the program. Packing session was a success. Donations continue to roll in. Berean Baptist

working on a November fundraiser. Schools began receiving the weekly bags on 9/8. $60 raised selling

popcorn at the Green Festival and $241 collected in raffle ticket sales.

-Cake Decorating – Working with a new instructor regarding a possible cake decorating class to be held at

the Lodge.

-Children’s “Kidding Around” Yoga – Classes start October 3rd and will be held Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15 pm

(ages 6-12) and Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30am for ages 2-1/2-5 and 11:00am-12:00pm for ages 6-12.

-Digital Photography 101 – Classes begin Monday, October 2nd, at BMS from 6:30-8:00pm.

-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Fall calendar and newsletter posted. Play to Lean flyer, Green Festival

flyer, and September bootcamp posted also. Completed Fall Newsletter. Green Fest flyer posted.

-Fencing – Classes resume October 16th, Mondays and Fridays at Levy School.

-Forever Fit – 12 participants in the month of August.

-Green Fest – 40 vendors registered and approximately 800 people attended the event. The event was a

success.

-Multisport – Classes begin at Levy School Wednesday October 4th from 3:15-4:15, and at WLC November

29th from 3:30-4:30pm, at SFE October 5th from 3:15-4:15.

-Play to Learn – Classes beginning again September 9th at the Lodge from 9:30-10:30 am.

-Sunshine Club– August meeting had 5 volunteers that made 22 gifts. Next meeting scheduled for

September 18th.

-Tap to Fitness – Classes resume September 13th from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Lodge.

-Yoga Nidra – Classes to begin November 17th on Fridays from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Lodge, with a possible

free workshop on November 10th.

Spring Lake 2017 Season

-Successful 2017 season at Spring Lake Beach

-Asking Judy Lopez, Beach Manager, to attend October or November meeting

Oakland Bike Path & Park Sketches

-Flooding has caused some issues for park

-Work is in progress

Future of Dog Park

-Memo to be sent to Town Council requesting more time to research

-Survey to be sent to other towns/cities with Rhode Island asking for dog park opinions/experiences

-Request Dog Pound to list their concerns
