What can I put in my Recycle Cart?

Recycling is EASY!
All recyclables can be mixed together and placed into the cart with the YELLOW lid.

We can now recycle more plastics!  All plastic containers 2 gallons or less are now recyclable! Don't worry about the numbers or the little triangle.  Is it a plastic container? It is 2 gallons or smaller?  If so, recycle it!

Items that are NOT ACCEPTED in your Recycling Cart:

Scrap metal - (pots, pans, hangers, wires, small appliances, chains, cables, nuts, bolts) Bring scrap metal to Whipple Ave

Plastic bags - Do not bag your recyclables. No plastic bags are accepted in your YELLOW lid cart. Bring bags back to the store 

Refrigerated and frozen food boxes and greasy pizza boxes - (butter, pizza, beer, soda, TV dinner) Throw in trash

Paper plates, napkins, tissues  - place in cart with the BLACK lid

Plastic containers larger than 2 gallons & rigid plastic items - (kitty litter pails, kids toys, lawn furniture) Bring to Whipple Ave

Clothing or textiles - Bring to Whipple Ave and place in collection box

Chip bags and candy wrappers - Throw in trash

Styrofoam - Throw in trash

Sharps - (injectable needles) Place in a rigid plastic container (laundry detergent/bleach container) tightly close lid & secure with duct tape, and place in TRASH

Household hazardous waste - (propane tanks, oil-based pain, rechargeable batteries) Bring to a local Eco-Depot event

Trash - place in cart with the BLACK lid
