__________

Incorporated in 1806, Burrillville is a beautiful, rural community located in the northwest corner of Rhode Island that is a lot closer than you think. The town is comprised of nine villages that were created around the original mill complexes and most town residents still identify their neighborhood by their mill village name whether it be Harrisville, Pascoag, Oakland, Mapleville, Glendale, Mohegan, Wallum Lake, Bridgeton or Nasonville.

Burrillville’s rich history dates back to America’s Industrial Revolution and the town is most known for its abundant open space, pristine lakes, woodlands and hiking, challenging biking, excellent hunting and fishing, and glorious scenery.

Please take some time to explore this site and learn about everything our quaint town has to offer.

We hope you’ll take the trip to visit Burrillville, Rhode Island!

  1. I am trying to get info on an ancestor who is listed in the 1850 census as living in Burrillville and who I believe also died there. Her married name was Martha Cook or Cooke. She would have been born sometime around 1800-1805. Her husband was Herman Cook. I am trying to find out her maiden name. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Ron Jordan
