Burrillville operates under a home rule charter with a Council/Manager form of government. The Town Manager is the administrative head of all local government appointed officials and employees. Boards and commissions are appointed by the Town Council and are empowered to make specific decisions related to their field of expertise as set forth by Federal, State and Local laws. The Town Charter details Burrillville's governmental structure and explains the powers and duties of each entity of our government.
On a biennial basis, the Burrillville Town Council and Town Manager, working with all appointed officials, develop a biennial list known as our Goals & Objectives and Public Policy.
The Capital Improvement Plan 2012 - 2016 is reviewed and revised frequently taking into consideration current Financial Update/Information and Historic Budget Information.
