Isn't it true that nearly one-third of the energy we use today is expected to retire in the next 10 years?

There is the “possibility” of retirements. However, all but 154 MW (or less than 0.5%) of the units in the system that have been delisted through 2020 are not going to retire but will sell only energy into the market. In addition, for the 2020/2021 time period, only 519 MW have submitted a request to retire (approximately 1.5%). These retirement trends illustrate that the region is currently in no risk of losing “one-third” of its energy. In addition, it is likely that this will be replaced or offset with solar and EE (energy efficiency) .
