Town Manager Recruitment

The Town of Burrillville is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and community‑focused professional to serve as Town Manager. Burrillville operates under a Council-Manager form of government in a Town of approximately 16,400 residents. The ideal candidate will have strong municipal management experience, proven financial and budgetary expertise, and the ability to lead and support multiple departments with professionalism and integrity.  Strong skills in economic development and redevelopment programs/projects desired.  Excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to public service are essential. Familiarity with Rhode Island municipal operations is strongly preferred. This position works closely with the Town Council, staff, and residents to ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations, responsible fiscal management, and high‑quality public services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of public administration, budgeting, organizational leadership and community engagement.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree preferred, not required, in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of responsible experience in municipal government or a comparable business setting
  • Experience with municipal capital projects and economic development programs
  • Experience in labor relations, human resource management, and collective bargaining
  • Residency in Rhode Island within six months upon hiring
  • Valid driver’s license

Salary range is $140,000 - $160,000.  Full benefit package.
