Charter Review Commission
The Town Council shall, in the year preceding the 2028 election of the presidential electors, and thereafter every eight (8) years, or more often if it is deemed necessary, appoint a committee of nine (9) members to review the Charter. Said committee shall, within six months of its appointment, submit to the Town Council a report with its recommendations for amendments, additions or deletions to be presented to voters at the next election of presidential electors. This Charter may be amended at any time, or a new charter adopted, in the manner provided by the Constitution of the State of Rhode Island.
Starting in mid-2027, the Town Council will advertise vacancies on the Charter Review Commission. Subscribe to our website here, to receive notice when the Council is seeking volunteers. The Burrillville Town Charter can be found online here.
