CODE RED MESSAGE – 4/8/20

This is Lisa Rabideau from the Burrillville Police Department with a message from our Town Manager:

The next few weeks are projected be very bad for the spread of coronavirus.  We all must pay attention and double our efforts to keep this virus from spreading and infecting our families, neighbors, and friends.

Burrillville has at least 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19.  The virus is real, it's here, and it can be deadly!  So far no one in Burrillville has died of coronavirus.  Let's keep it that way!    We do not know the location of COVID-19 cases so please do not call our public safety, town or school offices looking for that information.

Except as permitted by the Governor's Executive Orders, please stay in your homes.  Only leave for food, medicine, to and from work, outdoor activities and necessities, but we must follow social distancing rules!

Social distancing, staying at least 6 feet apart from any other person, and in groups of 5 people or less is the requirement.  Wearing face masks is now recommended.  Please follow these rules when in local business establishments. If we don't, the state government will close them down. We really don't want that!

At risk groups - People over 60 years of age, those with pre-existing medical conditions, and those who are quarantined or shut-in at home must pay special attention; you are the most susceptible to contracting the virus and will be the hardest hit if you become infected!  Those most vulnerable must, repeat must, take it seriously.

If you're one of the at risk groups and would like our squads of wonderful volunteers to go food shopping for you, take a run to pick up medicine or other necessities in town, please call 401-710-7429, and leave your contact information.  That number is 401-710-7429.  We are more than happy to help out!

If you or anyone in your family is sick, for any reason, please call your primary care provider or a local urgent care center for instructions.  Please don't wait.

We MUST all follow these rules so that we can all stay safe and healthy!!
