Vaccine Code Red Message

Following is information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine schedule for Burrillville residents aged 75 and up.

Although we do not have secured dates for the first round of 75+ vaccines, we anticipate these dates to begin in mid to late February, and we have a few things we want you to know:

A limited number of vaccines will be available for Burrillville residents aged 75+ for each scheduled day of distribution.  The state determines this quantity, and when the vaccines are available, not the town.

We expect to have vaccines available once a week for several weeks in a row.

Both the first and second doses of the vaccines will be given in town – this is expected to take place at the Burrillville high school or middle school.

If you have any concerns about receiving this two-part vaccine, you should check with your medical provider prior to signing up.

Registration for the vaccines will be done via an on-line portal that can be accessed through a computer or smartphone.  Please be prepared to help those friends or family members register if you know they are not proficient with technology.

A system will be in place for those with special needs or those who have no access to technology and have no family member or friend to help them register.

There will be a full-page advertisement in the bargain buyer on Wednesday, February 10th with important information on registrations.

All of this information will also be available on the town, library, and police department web sites by February 10th.

We ask that you do your best to line up transportation to the vaccination site, but we are exploring means to transport those who have no other way to get there.

If you cannot make the first date of vaccines, or the slots fill quickly, do not worry, other dates will be following shortly.

We will continue code red messages as more information becomes available for both this 75+ population and other populations which will be following.
