• Boot Camp – Bootcamp had 710 participants in the month of May. Friday evening classes have been
replaced by Thursday outdoor boot camp classes. Instructor has also added Tuesdays at 7 am.
• Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Taco Shop Fundraiser was a success. Attendees noted it was
buy all day. Still waiting for totals from the Taco Shop.
• Easy Line Dancing Classes for Seniors – First class had 9 participants. New Line Dancing classes for
seniors sponsored by Senior Services Inc of Woonsocket to be held at the Lodge on Tuesdays at 5:30pm.
Instructor is paid by senior services and classes are free.
• Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Posted Family Fair map and flyer, new line dance for seniors class
• Family Fair – Flyers distributed. Signs hung around Town. Working on fair layout and rounding up
volunteers. Donation received from RI Novelty. Working on flyers and map. 27 registration forms received
to date. Signs are up. Demonstrations will include boot camp and Jedlie’s Totally Interactive Magic Circus.
Taco Shop to be offering food this year along with Annabel’s Ice Cream. 15 Raffle baskets have been
received to date. Raffle to benefit the weekend Snack Pack Program. Police Department to offer car seat
checks. Harrisville Fire Department to bring their interactive smoke house. Detail officer requested.
Farmer’s Market to provide music. Free Mason’s to offer Child ID kits.
• Forever Fit – Average attendance for the month of May was 13 participants per class
• Safe Sitter – Summer Safe Sitter Program is filled to capacity.
• Sunshine Club- May meeting had 9 volunteers that made 35 gifts. Next meeting scheduled for June 19.
Report on Dog Park
-Dog Park design is up for review. Draining for park needs to be relocated.
Report on Recreation Expansion Plan
-On hold until after Father Holland school decision
Recreation Department Master Plan
-Remington Lumber sight planned for park, bike path extension
Review Maps of Parks in Burrillville
-no new updates, removing for now
Father Holland School
-Due to funding, being put on hold for now
Ideas for Hauser Field
-Used for Burrillville Patriots football at present, use for baseball?

New Business
Spring Lake 2017 Season
-Business has picked up with better weather
-New water slide, ping pong tables & volley ball nets have been popular
-Boat rentals have seen steady business
-Beach Hall rented throughout summer months
-Seeing issues with residential beach passes being used for extended family, guests, etc
