-Handout for holiday changes in trash/recycling pickup & changes for plastic acceptance criteria

Discussion:

-A number of new instructors have approached the Rec Department offering new
classes
-The backpack program is doing well with supplies and is now serving 40 kids
-There has been a donation of clothing that is being shared with the nurses at
the schools so they will be available when students need them in an emergency.
-Santa was postponed for this past week because of the storm – need volunteer
for this Saturday, when it has been rescheduled.
-There were 5 “santas” who volunteered for the Santa Calling program. 49
children received a phone call from Santa

-General master plan is to turn Hauser into football and one adult field and move
other stuff to Beckwith Lodge. Looking into adding a walking trail and a
playground at Beckwith Lodge.

-Made $36,000 this season. Getting funds back up to where we were before the
Shigella incident

-Concentrating on the park portion of this project that is off of Victory Highway as
the properties involved that would need to be purchased on hold.

-Discussion was had about how it is important to have input from the various
organizations that make use of the field, including Little Leauge, Football, and
schools.
-Motion to table until next month’s meeting in order to obtain input from the
interested parties: Jim Alix

New Business
Consideration & Possible Action:

-On agenda for the Town Council for tomorrow evening. Would allow ages 3 and
under for free.
R e v ise w o r d i n g o n S p r i n g L a ke B e a ch Fa m ily P a ss
-Current pass, also allows 2 adults and up to 5 dependents that co-reside.
College students would still count as long as they can provide proof of student
status.

Seconded by Greg Devlin
Approved by unanimous vote.
D o g P a r k O p i n i o n f o r T o w n C o u n cil
-Motion to send letter to the Council sharing the South Kingstown policy
as the model for the dog park policy, referring policy to the Town Solicitor
for approval before it being adopted. As part of the policy, a user’s group
would be recruited through the town: Jim Alix
Second by Aaron Coutu
Approved by a unanimous vote
