Meeting called to order by Sharon Davies at 6:30pm EDT

Minutes of September 10, 2018 Recreation Commission Regular meeting
-Motion to accept by James Alix

-Notification that Paige Spink is no longer a member of the Recreation Commission
-Steve Mulcahey, Terrie Reis & Christopher Goody are up for reappointment

Good & Welfare:
-Trash is delayed for one day this week

-Art Classes- First session at SFE begins October 18th- November 15th.
-Boot Camp – Bootcamp has 706 participants in the month of August and 463 participants in the month of September.
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – There are currently 40 children receiving the weekly bags. Volunteer to donate winter hats for BWSP families. $289 was raised at the Green Fest raffle and $39 from the sales of popcorn. Next packing session scheduled for October 23rd.
-Digital Photography 101 – Next session postponed until the spring.
-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Fall Flyers distributed. October calendars, boot camp, one on one, art, guitar lessons and snow shoveling posted.
-Fencing – Classes resume October 19th.
-Forever Fit – 12 people for August and September classes.
-Guitar Lessons – beginning October 2nd at WLC. Lessons to be held before school.
Added an additional class at SFE to begin October 26th. Flyers to be sent home next week.
-Multisport – Next session begins October 3rd at AT Levy, November 14th at WLC, and October 4th at SFE.
-Santa at Stillwater – BMS chorus confirmed. Request sent to Dunkin Donuts. Candy canes ordered.
-Senior Grant – Survey to run in next week’s Bargain Buyer to get a feel for resident interest in activities.
-Sunshine Club– Next meeting scheduled for October 29th.

Discussion:
Spring Lake Beach 2018 Season Review
-postponed until November meeting Disc Golf
-Meeting guests here to discuss possible Disc Golf course in Burrillville
-There is interest in Burrillville for a disc golf course
-Similar courses in Connecticut and Massachusetts
-Nine to twenty five acres needed for course
-Disc Golf baskets have approximate cost of $340 x 18 holes
-Need tee signs and trash cans, tree removal
-Tee pads to consist of cement or gravel
-Total estimated cost of $10,000-$15,000
-Possibility of local businesses to sponsor holes
-Maintenance & upkeep include lawn mowing and trash removal
-Discussed possible locations, Black Hut, Round Top
