Report on Recreation Program Information
 Art Classes- Next session starts March 7 th at ATL school.
 Boot Camp – There were 624 participants for the month of November; 11 students were new.
 Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Boot Camp classes held a fundraiser which brought in 6 bags of food. Johnny’s Victory Diner to hold a fundraiser during December to benefit the program. For a $1 donation you can print your name on a stocking to be hung in the diner. Johnny’s to match the proceeds. DPNA collected food at Victorian Night. All schools have donated their excess canned items from Thanksgiving food baskets. There are currently 49 students receiving weekly backpacks. New collection site at the tax collector’s office has been very successful.
 Facebook/Newsletters/Website – 2019 Event Calendar, Winter Programs newsletter, Jonny’s Victory Diner Fundraiser and December Calendar posted. Holiday Cards, Holiday Events, Santa at Stillwater, Senior Assembly
Outing, and Victorian Holiday BWSP donation flyer posted. Winter newsletter going out next week.
 Forever Fit – Glasses have been averaging 23
 Gazebo – Lights and tree have been put into the gazebo by Harrisville Fire Department.
 Holiday Card Contest – Cards are available for purchase at Town Hall, Parks and Rec and Lil General. Prizes to be delivered to winners this week.
 Santa at Stillwater – Santa event was a success with approximately 1500 people in attendance.
 Santa Calling – A total of 38 kids received a call from Santa. 5 Santas have agreed to volunteer.
 Senior Grant – Senior Trip to the Assembly Theatre to see the New Providence Big Band has a total of 26 residents signed up. Only one resident will be utilizing the minibus for transportation.
 Sunshine Club – Next meeting scheduled for December 17 th with 37 birthdays. We are also having our annual holiday thank you luncheon for Sunshine Club members. George’s pizza is donating the pizza for lunch. Members will be participating in a cookie swap and will receive a small thank you gift.
Report on Recreation Expansion Plan
 No new information really
 Looking to develop indoor Basketball court at the Lodge site.
Recreation Department Master Plan
 Looking to get ideas for what community wants
 Will coordinate with the Town Master Plan
 Still looking at Burrillville track for upgrades
 Dog Park is still in Town Master Plan, but kind of on hold.
 Hauser Field reconfiguration is being looked at to turn into football and adult softball fields.
 Spring Lake Day Camp concept is under consideration
Oakland Bike Path & Park Sketches
 Currently in permitting, no updates really at this time
 DEM has been reviewing concept since October 19
 Two more phases were being considered, but they have fallen by the wayside.
Disc Golf
 Looking for a site after receiving a presentation by those who are interested in having a facility. Some possible sites could include Buck Hill and Black Hut
 The group is supposed to get back to the Rec Commission with an estimation of costs
 Would need to be placed on the town’s master plan
