Discussion:
R e p o r t o n R e c r ea t i o n P r o gra m I n f o rm a t i o n
-AAA Driver Improvement Program – 17 participants took the class. Feedback was
excellent. Serios donated pizza.
-Blackstone in Bloom – New location near Parks and Recreation being considered. Met
with Roots and Shoots and local Master Gardener. Soil is being tested. Meeting
scheduled for 5/13.
-Boot Camp – There were 755 participants for the month of April.
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Packing sessions have been completed for
the entire school year. Stuff the Bus fundraiser scheduled for May 18th from 9-1.
-Earth Day Clean Up – Event was a success with 222 participants. Smaller cleanups still
on going.
-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Posted Stuff the Bus info and April Calendar, Earth Day
Clean Up pics posted to facebook.
-Family Fair – Food truck scheduled. To date 28 registration forms have been received.
-Forever Fit – Approximately 23 people have been attending.
-Multisport – SFE has 19 participants, Levy has 12.
-Rad Kids – Program cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Team to have a table at the
family fair and we will try offering again in the fall.
-Senior Lunch and Learn– Lunch and learn was a huge success with approximately 112
people in attendance. Follow up meeting has been scheduled.
-Sunshine Club– Next meeting scheduled for May 20.

-Discussed comprehensive plan for Burrillville that highlights resources
-Need to review listing of town parks, etc
-Possibility of connecting Burrillville Bike Path with other town's paths
Burrillville Comprehensive Plan in Relation to Parks & Recreation

Spring Lake Beach – 2018 review, 2019 preview
-Commission would like reports on 2018 season
-Mentioned extended parking lot, part of long term Recreation planning
-Limited alcohol at rental facility on beach
Blackstone in Bloom Project
-Looking to improve areas within Burrillville

>Island in road at North Main/Grove
-Commission may be asked to assist in efforts
