R e p o r t o n R e c r ea t i o n P r o gra m I n f o rm a t i o n
-Adult Tap- Tap moving to Wednesday nights for adults. There are 10 participants for
adult tap. New classes being offered Wednesdays at the Lodge. Beginner intermediate
for ages 10-16, Advanced for ages 16+ and beginner adult ages 16+ from 5:30pm-
8:30pm.
-Art – fall classes will be offered at SFE on Thursdays from 3:15-4:30.
-Boot Camp – There were 618 participants for the month of August and 12 new
participants.
-Brains and Balance Class – There were 12 participants in the first class. A new class
beginning September 4 for age 55+. Free of charge, this 8 week session will teach
seniors the importance of staying mentally sharp and physically stable.
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Raffle will be held at the Green Fest to
benefit the program. 420 bags were packed at the 8/27 packing session. Several girl
scouts attended and helped back the bags. 33 students are participating this year.
-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Fall newsletters delivered to the schools. Fall
newsletter posted on the website and facebook. BPAC road race and packing session
pictures posted. September Calendar posted on facebook and around Town. Posted
Blackstone in Bloom, Green Fest Workshops and Green Fest Event. Pictures of Lunch
and Learn posted. RIPTA flex demo ride posted on facebook and sent via public notic
email.
-Fencing – Fall classes will be held at Levy Mondays 7-8:30pm and on Fridays from
3:30-4:30pm.
-Forever Fit – Average is 27 for August. Numbers have been good. First week back
had 5 new participants.
-Girls Softball – Girls softball starts 9/2 at Hauser and will be utilizing the lights as of
9/16. Girls softball has set up a new facebook page. New Burrillville Girls Softball
program to begin using Hauser in the Spring. League is currently taking registrations
and holding indoor clinics this summer and fall.
-Greenfest- Field marked and staked. Working on last minute preparations due to rain.
Stuffed giveaway bags. Preparing display items and working on event map and layout.
Working on map and layout. This year’s event will include a car seat check as well as
an electric vehicle display, free workshops on composting and electric vehicles. Event
scheduled for September 7th. To date 30 vendors have registered. Working on trifold
flyer and event layout. This year’s event to include a wellness expo in conjunction with
BPAC. Signs and banners are up around Town.
-Guitar Lessons – Beginners at WLC on Mondays from 8am-8:40am and for returning
students at WLC from 8am-8:40am, and at SFE for beginners on Wednesdays from
8am-8:40 and for returning students on Fridays from 8am-8:40am.
-Holiday Card Contest – Preparations underway. Memo submitted inviting Council to
participate.
-Karate – Several residents have called for information on the new program. New martial
arts classes being offered at the Lodge starting in October for homeschoolers on
Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30pm and at WLC gym on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15pm,
and in November at the Lodge on Wednesdays for toddlers from 9:30-10am, and
at SFE on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15pm.
-Rad Kids Program – Program to run September 25th – October 9th at WLC and
October 16th October 30th at SFE. Working with instructor and school department on
the fall schedule.
-Senior Transportation Subcommittee- Committee working to recruit drivers for the pilot
program. A Driver informational coffee and donut session to be held at the end of
September. Flyers and advertisements will go out next week.
-Summer Meals Program- Program served 1,516 summer meals this year. The program
ran 29 days with an average of 52 meals per day.
-Sunshine Club– Sunshine club had 8 volunteers that made 19 gifts. Next meeting is
scheduled for September 23rd.

Spring Lake Beach – 2018 review, 2019 preview
-No new updates, removing from agenda

Spring Lake Beach Financial Reports (2017, 2018)
-Discussed overall numbers, compared the past two seasons
-Greg Devlin suggested we may want to meet at Spring Lake Beach once next summer 2020
-Will check to see if Judy Lopez, Beach Manager, can join our October meeting
