R e p o r t o n R e c r ea t i o n P r o gra m I n f o rm a t i o n
-Art – Next session starts February 13th at Levy School.
-Burrillville Aging Stronger Committee – Next Lunch and Learn event scheduled for
February 6 at Wright’s. 9 vendors registered to date.
-Boot Camp – There were 573 participants for the month of December and 4 new
attendees.
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – On January 7th we packed 12 weeks worth
of bags to get us through the winter season. Currently there are 50 students receiving
the bags.
-Easter Event- Contacted Dunkin Donuts and Dave and Busters for donations.
Confirmed JSML face painting and crafts. Working on flyers.
-Facebook/Newsletters/Website- Art flyer and multisport flyer posted. January calendar
posted. 2020 Rec Department Event Calendar, Santa event pictures posted
-Forever Fit – Average is 28 for December.
-For Pete’s Sake and Rosie’s Too- Meeting scheduled for 1/14 to discuss a winter ball at
the lodge.
-Girls Softball – Met with League president. He is going to maintain the fields year round
in lieu of reduced field fees.
-Hero Park – Submitted answers to additional follow up questions to DEM
-Karate – Toddler program on hold. Will be reintroduced in the Spring.
-Lodge Playground – Submitted answers to additional follow up questions to DEM
-Multi-sport – New program to start at Levy on January 29th for a 6 week session.
-Santa Calling – Program was a success again. Many thanks to all of our Santas
-Senior Transportation Subcommittee- Driver training held on 1/10 for drivers who could
not make the first meeting. Driver intake forms submitted to all housing complexes.
BCIs and driving records obtained for all drivers.
-Sunshine Club– Next meeting is January 27th to make 32 Birthday Gifts.
-Town Common Holiday Decorations - Harrisville Fire Department has taken down the
tree and lights in the gazebo.
-Zumba – Instructor looking to add Saturday morning classes as well as an additional
weeknight class.
-Burrillville Aging Stronger Lunch and Learn - apply for grant to cover costs
