Recreation Program Information:

• Art Classes- No adult art classes scheduled for the summer.
• Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Boxed macaroni and cheese to be collected at the Family Fair
to benefit the program. Donation of $100 received from Pascoag Utility District. 3 families have signed
up to continue to receive the bags in the summer.
• Earth Day Cleanup – A total of 7.55 tons of litter was collected—that’s more than 3 tons over what we
collected last year!!
• Facebook- Updated with summer program flyer and family fair flyer. Created an event for the family fair.
Posted info on safe sitter class.
• Family Fair – second Bargain Buyer Ad to run the week of 6/13. Press release went out to all local
newspapers and organizations. Trifold flyers distributed to elementary school students. A total of 26
registrations have been received to date. Sent email requesting volunteers and raffle items. Working
on event layout. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
• Forever Fit – Classes will be moved to the Jesse Smith Library as of June 27th to accommodate our
summer mini camps at the Lodge. Average attendance for the month of May was 12.
• Hula Hoop Classes – Hoop class has changed to Wednesdays from 6-7pm.
• Nutrition Classes/Weight Loss Classes- Participants have been meeting on Saturdays to walk on the bike
path.
• Parks and Rec Calendars/Newsletters/Website- June calendars and summer flyer distributed.
• Summer Mini- Camps –Archery, Karate, Hula Hoop and Art Camps to be held at the Lodge. Basketball
Camp has been scheduled to take place at the Middle School. Two weeks of Multi-Sport camp have
been scheduled to take place at Callahan.
• Sunshine Club–Next meeting scheduled for June 27th to make birthday gifts. May meeting made 28 gifts
and had 5 volunteers.
Hauser Lights:
-All new hardware tested and working
Brown House:
-Discussed door hardware and electric/plumbing fixtures
Update on Champlin Hall Management Changes:
-no new updates
Dog Park:-
Sketch not submitted yet, awaiting on dog pound plans
Brochure for Parks:
-No new updates, removing from agenda
Review recent emergency fund allocation:
-no new updates
Planning of Recreation Expansion:
-Comparing Hauser Field usage to plan expansion
Review Spring Lake Policy & Procedure:
-New accounting system running for entrants and concessions

Jeff McCormick mentioned recent vandalism on bike path
James Alix discussed concerns about current Recreation Commission agenda format
