Recreation Program Information:

• Archery – Instructor cannot offer Spring session due to her schedule.
• Art Classes- 12 students are enrolled in the next session of art at Callahan.
• Boot Camp – Instructor to offer an additional 2hr boot camp on 4/29 from 7-9 am and will be adding an
additional morning class from 5:15am-6:15 am on Wednesday mornings.
• Breakfast with the Easter Bunny/Egg hunt – Breakfast held 4/1; Hunt held 4/8 due to rain. Great turnout for
both events. Pictures are up on facebook.
• Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – Next packing session to be held 4/12 to pack 10 weeks worth of
food and carry us through the remainder of the school year. Movie Fundraiser took in $246 dollars. The
Board of A to offer another fundraiser to benefit the backpack program in the spring. Will have totals on
Easter Event raffles next month.
• Earth Day Cleanup – Residents are beginning to register. Had final meeting with the Lions. Event scheduled
for 4/22.
• Earth Day/Energy Conservation Poster Contest – Flyers distributed to the schools. Entries due Friday, April
28th. Awards ceremony to be held on May 10th at the Jesse Smith Library. Poster making workshop to be
held on Thursday, April 20th at 10:30am at the Jesse Smith Library.
• Earth Day Make It, Take It craft – Recycled craft held on 4/4 and 4/5 with students from WLC and SFE.
Students made some amazing things; pictures on facebook.

• Facebook/Newsletters/Website- posted new Boot Camp info, Digital Photography, Night at the Museum
Fundraiser, Earth Day Cleanup and Earth Day Poster Contest.
• Field Requests – Processing requests to utilize Branch River and Hauser field for spring sports.
• Forever Fit – Average attendance for the month of March was 12 participants per class
• Multi-Sport Classes- 20 students registered for Levy Multi-Sport.
• Play to Learn – 12 participants registered for the new class.
• Summer Programs– Archery and Hoops confirmed. Met with a tennis instructor; working on kids and adult
summer tennis program.
• Special Needs Recreation Programs/Classes– Met with Kayla Boss regarding her work with the Direct
Access Program and how we can work together to expand access to recreation events and programs for
adults with disabilities.
• Sunshine Club– March meeting had 5 volunteers that made 19 gifts.
Report on Dog Park and Dog pound:
-No new updates on dog park
-Dog Pound is add alternate to Dept of Public Works building, removing from agenda
